Coal Seam Gas Operations and Development Projects
Arrow Energy owns 300 production coal seam gas wells as well as processing facilities in the Daandine, Kogan North (co-owned by CS Energy) and Tipton West fields in the Surat Basin. The company recently acquired Bow Energy, which has been developing the Gunyah and Bandanna CSG exploration projects in the Surat Basin. Origin Energy, operating on behalf of Australia Pacific LNG, has more than 300 CSG production and pilot wells in the Surat and Bowen basins. Current production is focused on the Spring Gully (including Strathblane, Taloona), Peat and Talinga areas with further phased development planned in these areas as well as Condabri, Orana, Combabula, Reedy Creek, Dalwogan, Pine Hills, Kiama, Ramyard and Woleebee fields. The company plans to progressively develop between 120 and 350 wells per year up to 2016. The company plans to drill another 6000 throughout more than 4500sq km of tenements across the Surat and Bowen basins in the next 20 years. Santos has drilled 383 wells in the Surat and Bowen basins. Its GLNG project has EIS approval for 2650 wells. GLNG will produce CSG from gas fields located in the Scotia, Roma and Fairview areas. Exploration is also being undertaken in the Arcadia Valley. | www.glng.com.au
