Isaac auction

Isaac Regional Council has cleared all lots at its first Fleet and Plant auction this week.

NASCO Auctioneer Chris Goscomb said the 300 registered and another 200 online bidders competed fiercely.

“It’s was a rare event with a one vendor local government auction achieving a 100 per cent clearance rate with all 236 units sold,” Mr Goscomb said.

“The auction was unreserved and a huge range of items were cleared from cars, utes, boats, tractors, loaders, rollers, side tippers, mowers and much more,” he said.

“The highest auction result was for a Caterpillar 12H Grader sold for $79,000 and one of the lowest was a barbeque and hotplate for $5.”

Roads, Fleet and Depot Activities Committee Chair Geoff Bethel said it was great to see so many local people turn out to bid and benefit.

“More than 500 people came to see the auction action at Council’s Depot in Clermont,” Mr Bethel said

“Thanks to the hard work of staff and NASCO Auctioneers, the auction produced a fantastic result for Council and our communities.

“The proceeds of more than $1 million raised will be reinvested back into Council services.

“The auction resulted from surplus items identified as part of a Council review to ensure its fleet and plant pool was cost-effective and efficient in delivering core programs and services.”
