Nominations open for resource service awards

Nominations are open for the 2016 Resource Industry Network Chairman’s Awards, celebrating the achievements of businesses and individuals working in the Queensland resource services sector.

Entries close 5pm, April 15 and winners will be announced on May 20 at a gala presentation at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre.

Resource Industry Network chairman Tony Caruso said the awards program offered an opportunity to recognise excellence in business and the significant contribution that those businesses made to regional economies and communities

Award categories include:

The Safety Foremost AwardAwarded to an organisation that can demonstrate a sustained safety performance and/or culture in a workplace that incorporates physical and mental safety.

Leading from the Front Award - Awarded to the organisation that best demonstrates how they successfully engage with their employees to deliver a better outcome for their people or their business.

Connecting in the Community AwardAwarded to the organisation that best demonstrates how they successfully engage with the community or external stakeholders.

The Chasing Foreign Markets Award - Awarded to an organisation that demonstrates the most initiative or success in taking a product or service to the export market or using foreign markets or supply chains to improve their business outcomes domestically.

The Out of the Box Award - Awarded to an organisation that has demonstrated the most initiative in seeking out new opportunities for their business through innovation in new products or services, diversification into new markets, or adapted to meet the current environment.

Standing out from the Crowd AwardAwarded to an outstanding individual who has demonstrated commitment and dedication and resilience in current market conditions.

The Tony Britton Award - Awarded to a person who demonstrates dedication, enthusiasm and support for the wider resource services sector, outside of their own business interests.
