Premier office to be established in Townsville

Posted March 11, 2015

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk will establish an office in Townsville north Queensland.

Townsville Enterprise Chairman, Kevin Gill, said the establishment of the north Queensland Office of the Premier recognised the importance of Townsville and the key role it will play in the development of northern Australia.

“We know that there is tough competition for funding, strong policies and having government officials visit regional Queensland. This office now gives us direct access to the Premier and down to George Street, ensuring our voice is heard. The Premier knows that Townsville north Queensland is not backward in coming forward when we fight for our fair share,” he said.

The announcement was made at the inaugural Townsville north Queensland Business Development event, the first in a series of planned events focussed on outcomes for the region, organised by Townsville Enterprise and News Corp Australia.

The Premier also announced that the first Community Cabinet for 2015 will be held in Townsville in the coming months.
